Measurement of LLL
LLL systems have to undergo a luminance measurement every 5 years to verify that the installation meets the minimum requirements set by the IMO res. 752 (18). The resolution describes the requirements for luminance of min. 15 mcd/m2 after 10 minutes and 2 mcd/m2 after 60 minutes.
We use sensitive measuring instruments of high quality:
Hagner Digital Photometer, model ERP 105
Digital Miniluxmeter, type 42-029
Minolta xy dc Cromameter lystemperaturmåler
Cut a piece of photoluminiscent material (50x50mm) from the area you wish measured. The piece is placed immediately in the measuring probe, after 10 minutes read the first result after 60 minutes read different result.
During the measurement of luminance the lighttemperature (color) and brightness (lux) are measured.
These measurements will show if the light has the quality to charge the photoluminiscente stripes satisfactory.
After measuring, a report is worked out with measuring results, photos and recommendations.
